Classes

Quilting 101 A
A must for all quilters. This class is a lecture only, explaining the differences between needles, threads, fabrics, batting, detergents with discussions on many basic quilting techniques that most quilt classes seem to always overlook. This class will affect every quilt you make from this point on!

½ day class - all levels

Landscapes- Machine Pieced
This class is an introduction to the curved machine piecing technique for landscape quilts. In this class, students will cover design techniques, fabric choices, marking, sewing and pattern development working directly with fabric. To simplify and allow more time for learning these techniques, Sue has designed a landscape pattern of a Single Tree Landscape, available to students in this class. By utilizing this pattern, students will immediately begin learning the process of working on landscapes quilts without taking hours to design an individual piece. In the two-day workshop, the second afternoon is spent discussing student’s personal designs, and translating them onto paper.

One or two-day workshop all levels

Paper Foundation Piecing 1
Piecing, using a paper foundation, eliminates time and error. Piecing on a foundation will ensure that points are always perfect and will save time of making templates and precutting fabric. Learn this quick and easy technique working on patterns such as half square triangles, flying geese, square in a square, trees, houses, churn dash, stars and more.

One-day workshop - Beginners in paper piecing

Paper Foundation Piecing 2
Learn Sue’s simple way to enhance your quilts with curved paper pieced borders. Sue’s quilts and clothing with curved flying geese are showstoppers. In class, students will design a wall hanging, learn how to make patterns, and sew these curved paper piecing designs. It may look complicated, but after this innovative class with Sue, it’s made easy!
